Western Nevada Cattlewomen are offering scholarships for graduating seniors who are interested in pursuing a career in agriculture.
Applications are available in counselor offices of 22 local high schools in Alpine and Mono counties of California, Carson City, Washoe, Storey, Lyon and Douglas counties.
The scholarship is available to any graduating high school senior from the above counties who is going on to an accredited two or four year college or university and is interested in pursuing a career in agriculture. Applications are due March 1 and the scholarship will be awarded at the 2008 dinner/dance. Additional applications are available by contacting Terri Chichester at (530) 495-2341.
The Cattlewomen's 2008 Dinner, Dance and Auction is March 29 at the CVIC Hall in Minden.
The dance the cattlewomen's largest scholarship fundraiser of the year. Those in attendance can expect a beef dinner with all the fixings, a silent and live auction, raffle prizes, dancing.

Cattlewomen membership is open to anyone interested in promoting the cattle industry through educational and promotional activities.
The cattlewomen activities include Farm City Days in Reno and Carson City, Costco demonstrations and hosting an annual dinner, dance and auction to raise funds for our annual scholarship.
