Mary Eleanor Troy

1920-2008

A funeral mass will be 10 a.m. Feb. 15 at St. Gall Catholic Church in Gardnerville for Mary Eleanor Troy, who died on Jan. 27, 2008, at the age of 87.

Mrs. Troy was born to John and Nellie Sullivan on Dec. 25, 1920, in Miles City, Mont. She was raised in Spokane, Wash., where she attended and obtained her teaching degree from Eastern Washington College at Cheney. When Mrs. Troy wasn't teaching youngsters, she enjoyed dancing at the USO in Moses Lake, Wa. She managed to teach two sessions of kindergarten everyday and "Jitterbug" every night without missing a class.

After teaching in the Spokane area for eight years, Mrs. Troy moved to San Bernardino, Calif., where she settled, married and lived for 41 years.

She retired from a 43-year career of teaching kindergarten, first and second-grade children.

Mrs. Troy moved to Minden with her husband in 1990, where she resided until her death.

She was a devout Catholic and member of St. Gall Catholic Church in Gardnerville. She enjoyed See's chocolates, gardening, traveling and spending time with her grandchildren and family.

Mrs. Troy was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Jack H. Troy, who died in 2006. Mrs. Troy is survived by her eldest sister, Eileen Thoren of Rialto, Calif.; her younger sisters, Frances and Ruth Sullivan of Spokane, Wash.; her youngest brother, John Sullivan of Alameda, Calif.; daughters Sheryl Flournoy of Cottage Grove, Ore., and Nancy K. Cauley of Gardnerville, her son-in-law, Ron Cauley, and two grandchildren, Mackenzie Brynn Cauley and Sullivan Troy Cauley.

Kenneth 'Kenny' Krull

1991-2008

A funeral service is 1 p.m. Saturday at Valley Christian Fellowship for Douglas High School junior and native Nevadan Kenneth 'Kenny' Krull, 17, who died Feb. 2 at his home in Gardnerville.

Born Jan. 23, 1991, in Reno to Fred and Tina Krull, he lived in Gardnerville for his entire life. Mr. Krull played Pop Warner Football for four years and enjoyed riding his dirt bike and snowboarding.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Mary R. Eisenmann.

His survivors include his parents; sisters Adrianne and Kacie Krull of Gardnerville; grandmother Carol E. Porter of Fish Springs; grandfather Bob Eisenmann of Missouri City, Texas; aunts Vikki Eisenmann of Gardnerville, Carol and Gary Lanfair of Gardnerville and Jean Culuya of Citrus Heights, Calif.; uncles Bob Eisenmann Jr. of Texas, Mike Munro of Gardnerville and Bill Guest of La Habra, Calif.; and one niece, Leilani Krull.

A viewing will precede the funeral service at noon Saturday.
