Comprised of eighth-graders, the 14 Black team competed successfully against 16 and under (ninth- and 10th-graders), winning four of five matches, including beating the only team that had defeated them earlier in the day in the finals.
Team members include: Elena Charles, Sarah Lushina, Tiffany Patrick, and Kristalei Wolfe from Carson City; Megan Mize and Darby Redder from Zephyr Cove; Gabi Newman and Megan Schmauder from Reno; and Shelby Reed, Hedi Schefcik, and Savannah Woods from Minden.
The team is coached by Steve George and Mike Williams, who will be conducting a clinic for 3-6 grade boys and girls Feb. 8 and 9, and a middle school clinic for 6-8 grade girls Feb. 23 and 24.
