Douglas High School senior and 2007 Sierra League Lineman of the Year Jeff Nady will sign Wednesday with the University of Nevada, Reno.
Nady's father, Joe, and Coach Mike Rippee confirmed the defensive standout with the Tigers given his verbal committment with the Wolf Pack.
Joe Nady said his son had narrowed the field down to Colorado State and Nevada.
"It was a tough choice for him," Joe Nady said. "Nevada has always been there and attended all his games."
Nady said Wolf Pack head coach Chris Ault and assistant Cameron Norcross were down Saturday morning
"He likes the tradition and the coach wants to make Nevada a top 25 program and Jeff is pretty fired up."
Rippee said the signing will solve the question of where Jeff will be going for the remainder of his senior year.
"I know they're glad to have the process out of the way," Rippee said. "Now Jeff can focus ending up with a great basketball year. It's nice to know where your future lies and where you're going be."
Rippee said it is an opportunity for the Tigers tight end and defensive lineman to continue playing football.
"It's a great opportunity to continue playing football and play close to home," Rippee said. "Jeff was one of the lucky ones to get it."
