Recreational sports: Upcoming sign-ups

The Douglas County Parks and Recreation Department is currently taking registration for spring adult volleyball.

The registration deadline is Feb. 22.

Registration is on a first-come basis. Cost is $185.00 per team. The leagues being offered include women's league (6x6, Monday nights), open "A" league (4x4, Tuesday nights), coed "B" league (6x6, Wednesday nights) and coed "B" league (6x6, Thursday nights).

The leagues are scheduled to begin the week of March 3.

Sign-ups run through Feb. 29.

Payment is required at the time of registration.

The cost is $470 per team and includes a minimum of eight games and a season-ending single-elimination tournament. Games will be played on Sundays at Aspen Park.

The season will begin on March 9.

Cost is $400 per team and includes a minimum of 8 games and a season-ending single-elimination tournament.

Games will be played on Sundays at Carson Valley Middle School. The season will begin March 9.

The Douglas County Parks and Recreation Department will begin taking registration for summer adult softball leagues in March.

Returning teams can sign up from March 10 through April 18 and new teams can begin to sign up after March 24.

Priority will be given to returning teams, however teams that sign up after March 24 are not guaranteed a space.

Payment is required at the time of registration. All games are played at Lampe Park.

The women's league will play on Wednesday nights, men's B league will be Tuesday and Thursday nights, men's C league will be Monday and Wednesday nights, men's D league will be Tuesday nights and the coed open league will be on Friday nights.

The cost is $650 per team for men's B and C leagues (minimum 18 games and double-elimination tournament), $410 for women's, men's "D" and coed (minimum 10 games and double-elimination tournament).
