A gathering to remember part-time Gardnerville resident Clark Bannister is 3-4 p.m. Saturday at Hamdogs.

Bannister's sister Susan Van Grove said he disappeared in Westport, Wash., on Christmas Eve.

"He worked a crab boat and came into port," Van Grove said. "The whole crew took off and he was the only one staying aboard. He was last seen walking back from a bar and nobody's seen him since."

Van Grove said the family is not holding out much hope of finding the 53-year-old, who split his time between Gardnerville and Brookings, Ore.

Bannister is an Incline Village High School graduate and used to frequent Hamdogs.

Van Grove said Bannister's toilet kit was found on the crab boat and there has been no activity in his bank account.

He is described as 6 feet, 2 inches tall and weighing about 200 pounds. Van Grove asked that anyone with information call Westport Police at (360) 268-9197 and talk to Mark Obermeyer.

Hamdogs is located at 1267 Highway 395 in Gardnerville.
