The R-C Morning Report

It snowed last night with about a half inch on falling on the west side of the Valley and Heavenly Ski Resort reporting 5-6 inches on the mountain. The National Weather Service is forecasting that snow is likely during the day today between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. with this storm tapering off tonight to make way for the next one.

The road controls map looks like a bunch of kids got loose with the Silly String. All three passes require chains or four-wheel drive. Chains or snow tires are required on Highway 395 from Stephanie south to the state line and through Washoe Valley. Kingsbury and Spooner both have road controls.

The Nevada Highway Patrol is reporting a non-injury accident at Highway 395 and Airport Road in the northbound lanes. The accident occurred at about 6:57 a.m. and may still be a problem based on its severity. It's probably pretty slick out there.
