One man was injured in a Stateline brawl that ended with a shotgun blast at about 9:30 p.m. Friday night.

The incident occurred in the parking garage at Harvey's Casino. A dozen deputies responded to a report of a fight between two small groups of men. Upon their arrival they learned that two groups of about four to five men each were involved in the brawl.

A trio of men matching the description of one of the parties was detained in South Lake Tahoe, among them an 18-year-old resident, who had been injured by shotgun pellets on his left cheek, neck and shoulder. Paramedics rendered assistant.

The shooting victim said his group was confronted by a group of Hispanic males and that an argument escalated into the brawl. The rival group broke contact and ran into the lower level of the parking garage. The shooting victim said he and his friends chased the other group into the garage. When they arrived, the victim said he heard someone yell "he's got a gun." And then the victim heard the gunshot and was injured.

The other side in the brawl has not been identified, according to Sgt. Jim Halsey.
