One man was injured in a Stateline brawl that ended with a shotgun blast at about 9:30 p.m. Friday, authorities said.
The incident occurred in the parking garage at Harveys Resort Casino, according to Douglas County sheriff's Sgt. Jim Halsey. A dozen deputies responding to the call learned that two groups of about four to five men each were involved in the brawl, Halsey said.
Three men matching the description of involved parties were detained in South Lake Tahoe, among them an 18-year-old resident who had been injured by shotgun pellets on his left cheek, neck and shoulder, Halsey said. Paramedics were called, but the man declined treatment.
The shooting victim said his group was walking from the Horizon Casino Resort toward Harveys when they were confronted by a group of Latino males, according to Halsey. An argument broke out that escalated into a brawl. The rival group fled into the lower level of the parking garage and were chased by the other group, authorities said.
The shooting victim reportedly said he heard someone yell, "He's got a gun" before hearing a gunshot and feeling the sting of shotgun pellets.
