Eighteen-year-old Delaney Battista of Gardnerville is looking for donations to help her pay for a trip with the International Student Volunteers program.
Battista graduated from Douglas High School in 2007.
A freshman at University of Nevada, Reno and Dean's List honoree, Battista plans on going to Costa Rica this summer to work on conservation projects.
"I'll be committed to 120 hours of volunteer work," said Battista. "Our team will work on endangered species preservation and habitat restoration."
She said she'll receive a hands-on education in sustainable management of resources and responsible use of natural environment.
Interested parties can make donations to El Dorado Savings and Loan account No. 43000699, or make tax-deductible donations to International Student Volunteers, Inc. A $120 donation to the program will equal $1 for every hour Battista will volunteer. Call Douglas Battista at 782-2807 or visit www.isvonline.com for more information.
