Sam Archuleta


1931-2007


A funeral Mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. Monday, at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church with a Rosary service 6:30 p.m. today at Walton's Chapel of the Valley in Carson City, for Sam Archuleta, 76, of Carson City, who died Dec. 31, 2007, in Carson City.


Mr. Archuleta was born April 17, 1931, in Hernandez, N.M., and moved to San Pablo, Calif. where he lived for 50 years before moving to Carson City in 1988. He was a member of St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church and he loved motorcycles.


He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, three brothers, and a granddaughter. He is survived by his wife, Ruth whom he married on Dec. 28, 1950; four sons, Jacob of Sacramento, Jessie of Reno, Harold and wife Jeraldine of Carson City and Rocky of Green Valley, Calif.; six daughters, Sandy and husband David Garcia of Minden, Berniece and husband Leroy Hernandez of Carson City, Bernita and husband David Amador of Carson City, Ofelia and husband Romolo Lopez of Montrose, Colo., Regina and husband Augustine Rodriguez of Vallejo, Calif., Renee Archuleta of Richmond, Calif.; two brothers, Juan Archuleta of San Juan Pueblo, N.M., and Ambrose Archuleta of Espanola, N.M.; six sisters, Molly Martinez, Fabiola Quinata, Bessie Archuleta and Inez Archuleta, all of New Mexico, Tina Maestas and Teresa Archuleta of Kentucky


He is also survived by 32 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.


Arrangements are in the care of Walton's Chapel of the Valley in Carson City. Burial will follow at the Eastside Memorial Park in Minden.

Johnston


1949-2008


A memorial service is 11 a.m. Monday at FitzHenry's Carson Valley Funeral Home in Gardnerville for Deborah Ann Johnston, 58, a three-year resident of Gardnerville.


Mrs. Johnston died Jan. 2, 2008, in Carson City.


Born Oct. 26, 1949, in Los Angeles, to Robert and Doris Cox, she lived in Santa Maria, Calif. She married her husband Kenneth Johnston Aug. 29, 1981 in Bakersfield, Calif.


She had 14 years of education and retired as an office manager for Martin-Marrietta Aerospace. She enjoyed crafts, reading and sewing.


She was preceded in death by her mother in 1989 and her father in 1998.


She is survived by her husband, son Jason T. Ybarra, daughter Kim Ybarra; and two grandchildren.


Cremation is at FitzHenry's Crematory. FitzHenry's Carson Valley is in charge of arrangements.
