Carson Valley Inn entertainment


Major Link appears through Sunday and various duos entertain on Monday nights. Cabaret Lounge live entertainment is presented with no cover and no minimum in 45-minute shows at 7:30, 8:30, 9:30, 10:30 and 11:30 p.m.


Major Link hails from the San Francisco Bay area and is one of the most requested groups at the Carson Valley Inn. Terry Saunders is acknowledged as a top guitar player on the West Coast. Mary Owens is exceptional on keyboards and vocals. Using the most up-to-date and technically advanced musical equipment, they cover a full range of today's popular music styles including pop, rhythm & blues and good old rock 'n' roll.


Shake, Rattle & Roll takes the Cabaret Lounge stage Tuesday and plays until Feb. 3. Shake, Rattle & Roll brings a song list of more than 500 classic rock and roll hits from the '50s, '60s and '70s. The band is Lee Bellinger on lead vocals, Andy Highhouse on guitar, Michael Tucker on bass and vocals, Warren Purcell on drums and Bill Crane on keyboards and vocals.

Watch the football championship games and the Super Bowl on four plasma screens and a giant screen in the Cabaret Lounge and on TVs in the casino and Fiona's bar. Drink specials on on both Sundays and munchies served 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. in the Café Cabaret. Drawings held during games for prizes.

Acoustic jam at Eddy Street Book Exchange


Local musicians are invited for an acoustic jam, 2:30 - 5 p.m. Sunday at the Eddy Street Book Exchange. Musicians of any acoustic instrument of any level of experience or those who don't play but want to sing along are welcome. at museum


February's Student Day at the Carson Valley Museum & Cultural Center features language professor Ralph Chizek who speaks on the origins and influences of the ancient pictograph Hebrew language at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Feb. 2.


Students and required accompanying adult admitted free on the first Saturday of the month.

Celebrate Super Bowl at Sharkey's


Sharkey's Casino hosts the Smokin' Super Sunday Football Party on Super Bowl Sunday, Feb. 3 with a $1,000 Super Bowl pool, prize drawings, drink specials at 1 p.m. in the Horseshoe Bar and complimentary snacks of hot wings, meatballs, hot dogs and chili served during the game.
