The first baby born at Barton Memorial Hospital in 2008 is the newest resident of Nevada's oldest settlement.
Brock Jack Vasey is the son of Chris and Shaundra Vasey of Genoa and the grandson of Jim and Marilyn Vasey of Minden.
Born Jan. 2 at 7:45 p.m., Brock's footprint will be preserved on the hospital's wall with a Footprint Medallion, courtesy of the Barton Foundation.
A gift basket including $2,100 in goods and services was donated to the Vaseys, which includes one-month free diaper service and an oak rocking chair.
