Less than a year after starting his presidential campaign in Nevada, New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson dropped out of the race.

Richardson issued a statement on his Web site today saying that he is giving up the race.

Last year, Richardson told Nevadans he was hoping the state would provide him with the momentum he needed to be taken seriously as a presidential candidate.

But with fourth place finishes in both Iowa and New Hampshire, Richardson took the bow today.
