The Tahoe Grizzlies Youth Ice Hockey team dropped a pair of games last weekend to the Tri-Valley Blue Devils from Dublin, Calif.

On Saturday the Devils won 8-2. The Grizzlies had a goal from TJ Olson of Carson City with an assist from DJ Freeman of Carson City.

Later in the third period, Freeman had a breakway goal for all the scoring for the Grizzlies. The game featured very physical play from both teams.

Sunday the score was 7-1 Devils. The very physical play continued through out the game. Olson scored the only goal for the Grizzlies with an assist from Freeman, Tasha Aiken, and Luke Weinberg.

The Grizzlies received solid play from Freeman, Olson. Matt Permo of Carson City, Weinberg. Shane Whitt and Randy Hurtton from South Lake Tahoe and Heath Sunseri from Gardnerville.

Shane Whitt is the goalie for the Grizzlies and with only four games between the pipes did a great job stopping the shots.

The Grizzlies are a pee wee travel ice hockey team ages 11-12 years old composed of players from Carson, Reno, Gardnerville, Virginia City, Verdi, South Lake Tahoe and Minden.

The Gizzlies will be back on the ice facing the San Francisco Sabercats this weekend.
