The Knights of Columbus of Gardnerville donated $1,000 to the Kids & Horses Therapeutic Riding Center on Jan. 13. The funds were raised during the November Knights Bingo Night.
The Kids & Horses program offers horsemanship as a means of therapy, improving strength, balance, coordination and self-esteem for children and adults with physical and/or emotional disabilities.
The nonprofit organization was founded in April 1999. The philosophy behind Kids & Horses is everyone, regardless of disabilities, can benefit from an equine relationship. People interested in volunteering at the center can contact Lisa Fletcher at 450-3307 or the center at 267-1775.
