It's chilly on this morning of the Nevada caucuses with the temperature at 16 degrees in Minden and only slightly warmer in the foothills.

Republicans are first up today gathering at a dozen caucus sites across the Valley to elect delegates and participate in a straw poll on their favorite candidate. The sites open at 8 a.m. and everyone who wants to participate needs to be there by 9 a.m. when the doors close.

Democrats get to sleep in until 11 a.m. when their sites open. Doors close at noon and they will pick delegates for candidates.

Stay tuned to recordcourier.com during the day for information about turnout and results as we get them.
