Predictions that it would start snowing in Carson Valley at about 4 p.m. were dead on. Snow started falling in Genoa at a bout 4:05 p.m. A snow advisory is in effect for western Nevada through 10 p.m. with local accumulations of up to 4 inches.
The National Weather Service is warning motorists that visibility will be less than a half mile in some places. Also look out for slick roads.
Snow is expected to continue in the forecast through Thursday.
