Douglas' Jessica Waggoner netted six of her game-high 14 points in the final quarter as the Tiger girls' basketball team held off South Tahoe 41-29 Saturday at the Lake.
South Tahoe focused on stopping Waggoner, and managed to contain her until the fourth.
The Vikings led 12-10 after one quarter but the Tigers took control in the second quarter behind their perimeter shooting. Allie Hughes and Katie Buffo each connected beyond the arc as the Tigers used a 17-point period to take a 27-19 halftime lead.
"To Douglas' credit they were a very patient team," said Tahoe coach Chris Holmes, whose team played a 2-3 zone. "We could learn from them.
"We're just making some mistakes at bad times, and it's costing us."
Douglas got seven points from Bridget Maestretti, four from Ally Freitas, three each from Hughes and Buffo and two apiece from Sarah Hartley, Dany Heidt and Nicole Didero.
