Parents and educators can find tips on how to improve children's literacy and language skills through two publications by the University of Nevada Cooperative Extension accessed at www.unce.unr.edu.
The Foundations of Literacy Study, conducted through a grant from the Nevada Agricultural Experiment Station, found that teacher beliefs, classroom literacy and language activities, classroom routines and activities, teacher characteristics and supportive family-center connection lead to improvement in children's literacy and language skills.
