After slightly stumbling out of the gates Saturday afternoon, the Douglas girls' junior varsity basketball team stepped up and took a 64-19 win over South Tahoe.
The win capped a perfect weekend for the Tigers as Douglas topped Reno 59-51 Friday night.
Against South Tahoe, Niki Hamzik led the team with 11 points while Ne'Jae Jackson and Susie White each chipped in nine and Megan Mitchitarian added eight.
Briana Rutherdale hauled in nine rebounds and Edna Meza grabbed seven more and Jackson recorded four assists.
The Tigers overcame a slow first couple of minutes to outscore the Vikings 21-7 in the first quarter and cruise to the win.
Against Reno, Douglas had 21 points from Jackson, eight boards from Meza, seven from Rutherdale and six from Mitchitarian.
Rutherdale added 11 points.
Reno led 16-14 after the first quarter but Douglas turned things around to take a 28-26 lead heading into halftime.
Douglas improved to 14-3 overall and 5-0 in league play with the wins.
