A 25-year-old Reno woman reported items worth $5,240 were stolen Jan. 13 from a vehicle she left locked overnight outside the Genoa Bar.

The woman said she left her vehicle because she'd had too much to drink. She returned in the morning, and discovered the burglary.

She told authorities the window lock lever was pried open.

Someone took an $800 camera, two iPods, 240 compact discs, a snowboard, sunglasses, goggles and clothing.

She said she had no idea who was responsible.

n A Pineview Estates man turned in a small kit containing drug paraphernalia he found Jan. 19 on the east side of Highway 395 a mile north of Jolie Lane.

The man said he was driving on Highway 395 near the Piñon Pines Mobile Home Park when he saw the bag. He stopped because he said he wanted to return the item to its owner, but there was no identification.

He brought the bag to the Douglas County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies described it as a "hype bag," and said it contained 13 hypodermic syringes, 30 small plastic bags, five small glass vials including two with white powder residue, a small propane burner and a plastic digital scale with 10-gram brass weights.

The bag and its contents were destroyed, according to the sheriff's office.
