The Weather Service is forecasting more snow for Western Nevada between 10 a.m. today and 4 a.m. Saturday morning and then the real storm rolls in. Today's high temperatures should climb into the 40s as the low pressure system rolls into the area. Saturday night it will be warm enough to turn the snow into rain in places.

Chains or snow tires are being required on Highway 395 through all of Douglas County. The same goes for Highway 88 and Kingsbury Grade. Be careful on the highways this weekend, because if what's rolling in is even close to what the forecasters are predicting, it could be nasty going.

About three dozen Genoans gave interim Town Manager Lisa Granahan a send-off on Thursday night at Tahoe Ridge Winery. Granahan, whose real job is assistant to the county manager, ran the town for a year. Sheryl Gonzales is taking the reins for a short time while the town looks for a manager.
