The Coleville girls' basketball team suffered its first league loss of the season hosting the Virginia City Muckers Friday night.
Virginia City prevailed 34-26 in the defensive struggle.
Coleville's Amara Rowley scored 12 points to lead all scorers while Molly Garcia and Jessica Parkhurst each added four.
Garcia led the team with 13 rebounds in the loss.
"I thought we did an excellent job defensively and on the boards but you can't beat good teams shooting only 19 percent," Coleville coach Will Sandy said, "The loss puts us in a three-way first place tie with Pyramid Lake and Virginia City with half of our league schedule to go."
Coleville dropped to 6-1 in league play and 11-5 overall.
Coleville will host Gerlach Friday night (tipoff 6 p.m.) and will travel to Pyramid Lake Saturday for a 4 p.m. game.
