Audrey W. Cogsdill
1945-2008
A celebration of the life of Gardnerville resident Audrey W. Cogsdill is 4 p.m. Thursday in the upstairs room at Sharkey's, 1440 Highway 395, Gardnerville. Mrs. Cogsdill, 62, died at her home Jan. 22, 2008.
Born in Riverdale, Md., on March 8, 1945, to John and Florence Winner, she married Timothy L. Cogsdill July 19, 1968, in Watkins Glen, N.Y. In June 1979, the couple moved to Gardnerville where Mrs. Cogsdill began her accounting career with Bently Nevada and Timothy Cogsdill joined the Douglas County Sheriff's Office until his death in November 1982.
Mrs. Cogsdill was also preceded in death by both parents, her husband and her brother Bobby Winner.
She is survived by her brother Richard Winner of Virginia; sister Virginia Winner of New York; son Michael Cogsdill (Iris and unborn granddaughter) of Nevada; daughter Rebecca Moffett (John) of Florida; granddaughter Tiffany; grandsons Conner and Steven; longtime companion Tom McClinton; and numerous friends in Nevada and New York.
Mrs. Cogsdill was truly loved, and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
William Alex Vereschagin III
1984-2008
A memorial service is 1 p.m. Friday in Fallon for William Alex Vereschagin III, 23, who died from injuries he sustained in a Jan. 24, 2008, traffic accident near Silver Springs.
Mr. Vereschagin was a Douglas High School graduate, who moved to Fallon from Gardnerville two years ago.
Born on March 1,1984, in Chico, Calif. to Dennis and Sherry (Goff) Vereschagin, the family has lived in Nevada since 1993. At the time of his death, Mr. Vereschagin was employed at Nevada Automotive Test Center near Fort Churchill. Prior to that he had worked at Amazon in Fernley and with his father and brother in construction.
He loved working on cars and spending time with his family.
Mr. Vereschagin is survived by his parents, Dennis and Debbie Vereschagin of Fallon; Sherry Montalvo of Reno; fiance Aleashia Elizarraraz of Fallon; children Hailey, Cameron and Koda; brothers Dennis and Jessica Vereschagin Jr. of Gardnerville, Zachary Vereschagin, Richard and Mindy Henley, Jason Henley, Jason and Amanda Hansen all of Reno, Chris Hansen of Fallon; sisters Jody and Kris Boni of Fallon, Jennifer Vereschagin and companion Daniel of Reno; grandparents Violet Schilke of Red Bluff, Calif.; Carol and Joe Lauderdale of Corning, Calif.; Preston and Arlene Goff of Salt Lake City, Utah.
The service will be held at The Gardens Chapel in Fallon. Interment will follow at Churchill County Cemetery.
