Pat Stanley was awarded first place in the Carson Valley Photos Club's June photo contest for his photo of a pair of eyeglasses on which he had been tightening the screws. The image, "Loose Glasses," captured the monthly contest theme on hand tools.
Photographer Pam Brekas took both second and third place with her photos of Bill Ramsden's tractor museum off Stephanie Way. The second-place winner, "Old Tools," is a closeup of farming hand tools used decades ago. "Plane Tool," which won third place, shows an old hand planer sitting on a shelf.
Club members heard professional photographer and teacher Matt Theilen discuss portraiture, which will be the theme for the July club photo contest.
The club meets the fourth Thursday each month at 6:30 p.m. at the Carson Valley United Methodist Church, 1375 Centerville Lane in Gardnerville.
