Artists needed for museum art and wine festival

Applications are being accepted for artist participation in the Douglas County Historical Society's Art and Wine Festival. The festival is 4-8 p.m. July 19 on the lawn of the Carson Valley Museum & Cultural Center in Gardnerville.

There will be wine tasting, music and food booths set up in the parking lot.

Artists can apply for a 10-by-10-foot booth space by filling out an application and providing two to four photos of examples of their work. There is a $25 application fee. This will be a juried art show.

Original work will be accepted in the following media: oils, pastels, watercolors, tempera, monotypes, lithographs, photographs, pottery, clay, porcelain and jewelry. Non-original art or crafts will not be accepted.

Space will be reserved on a first-come, first-served basis and booths must be set up by 3 p.m. July 19. Information at the Douglas County Historical Society, 1477 Highway 395, Gardnerville, or 782-2555.


Anniversary reception July 25

The East Fork Gallery celebrates its 29th anniversary, 4- 8 p.m. July 25.

Meet the artists and enjoy food and wine. East Fork Gallery is at 1503 Highway 395, Gardnerville. Information, 782-7629.


Galleries present Small Treasures

The Carson Valley Art Gallery Association presents the Small Treasures exhibit of small artworks. The exhibit will be on display through July 31 at Artistic Viewpoints Gallery and Studio at 1572 Highway 395 in Minden; Artisans International Gallery, 1653 Lucerne St., Suite B in Minden; East Fork Gallery, 1503 Highway 395 in Gardnerville; Felix Pottery and Artisan's Shoppe at 1459 Highway 395 in Gardnerville and Lone Tree Gallery and Frame in Minden at 1598 Esmeralda Ave.

Art patrons may enter a free art raffle at each location during the exhibit and the artists' reception.
