Members of the Minden-Douglas Elks Lodge No. 2670 invite everyone to attend their annual carnival at Lampe Park starting Wednesday, July 30 through Sunday, August 3.

Attendees will enjoy a fun atmosphere complete with rides to thrill the brave-of-heart and exciting midway games to challenge your strength and skills. A variety of carnival-style foods will be available, including favorites such as hot dogs, ice cream and cotton candy.

There is no charge to attend the carnival although you do need to buy tickets if you want to enjoy the rides. Advance books of 30 tickets purchased prior to noon on July 30 will cost $15. That same book of tickets will cost $25 at the carnival booth.

Similar to last year, ticket books may be exchanged at the carnival for a special wristband which entitles the wearer to unlimited rides for that day. This year, the ticket books may be exchanged for the wristband on any day of the carnival. What a deal!

Advance tickets are available at several places throughout town: the Carson Valley Chamber of Commerce, Mark Smith's Les Schwab Tires, Full Belly Deli, Main Street Barbers and Accolades Trophies. In addition, you may contact any lodge member to assist you with your early ticket purchase.

Invitation for those with special needs

Children with special needs are invited to attend the carnival on Friday, Aug.1 from 2-4 p.m. For just $5, the entire midway will be theirs to enjoy for those two hours. Children must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

Vendors welcome

In addition, the Elks invite vendors to join them at the carnival. Depending upon the needed space for your booth, the cost will range anywhere from $60-$100 for all five days. For more information, contact Dave Trueblood at 782-3416 or davejaq@verizon.net.

Hours of operation for the general public are from 4-10:30 p.m. Wednesday-Friday, noon to midnight on Saturday and noon until 8 p.m. on Sunday. Proceeds help support local charities and scholarships that benefit the youth in our community.

Questions may be directed to Dave Trueblood at 782-3416.
