Dance benefits Relay for Life
Relay for Life Team Z hosts an adult-only dance 8 p.m. to midnight tonight at the Montana Fitness Center at the Genoa Lakes Golf Resort.

Swap meet day
The Douglas County Historical Society's swap meet is 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday in the parking lot of the Carson Valley Museum & Cultural Center, 1477 Highway 395, Gardnerville.

Crossroads Bible school starts
Vacation Bible school for children 4-12, begins 6-8:30 p.m. Monday and runs through Friday at Crossroads Church, 1788 Pinenut Road, Gardnerville. Bible stories, music, crafts, games and puppets. The event is free but an offering will be taken for a mission project. Register at 782-4498 or 265-4344.
'E.T.' free movie in the park July 18
The Town of Gardnerville's Movies in the Park continues with "E.T." at dusk July 18 in Heritage Park.
Vendors at the event include the Carson Valley Lions Club, Boy Scout Troop 411, Papa Murphy's Take N Bake Pizza, Coldstone Creamery, Subway and Little Jimmy's Italian Ice.
Museum art and wine festival July 19
There will be wine tasting, music and food booths at the Douglas County Historical Society's Art and Wine Festival, 4-8 p.m. July 19, on the lawn of the Carson Valley Museum & Cultural Center in Gardnerville.
Area artists display and sell their work, wine from Lira's Market will be poured for tasting and food will be provided by the Carson Valley Lions Club and the Western Nevada Cattlewomen. Garian Music will be playing Celtic music during the event.
The event is $10 per person which buys a wine glass for wine tasting and access to the food, music and art. Raffle tickets for a 30-bottle wine collection are for sale in the Main Street Bookstore or at the event.

Carson Valley Jamboree July 20
David John and the Comstock Cowboys, the Saddle Tramps, Macho Jonny and Roaddaddy are the bands performing at the Carson Valley Jamboree presented by the Austin Kirby Foundation, noon to 8 p.m. July 20 on the Park Cattle property at Highway 395 and Muller Lane. Event includes tri-tip sandwiches, hot dogs, Indian tacos, crafts, car show and raffles. Tickets for the Austin House fundraiser are $20 for adults and $5 for children under 12 and are available at www.cvjamboree.org.
