The Douglas County Sheriff's Office is investigating three burglaries at Johnson Lane residences that occurred in the early morning when the occupants were home.

Capt. Keith Logan said Friday the burglaries occurred July 5-7 at homes in the 1300 block of Stephanie Way, 2600 block of Wild Rye Court and the 1400 block of North Santa Barbara Drive.

Secret Witness is offering a $1,000 reward.

"The Sheriff's Office is strongly urging all residents to secure their homes and vehicles, regardless of if you are home or not," Logan said. "Residents are also encouraged to report any unknown or suspicious persons in the area."

He said neighbors' vigilance can prevent such burglaries.

"Our community is best equipped to notice what or who should or should not be in the area," Logan said.

Anyone with information regarding the burglaries or other related crimes is asked to call Investigator Jon Storke at (775) 782-9909 or Secret Witness at (775) 782-7463 or 586-7295.

Secret Witness is offering up to $1,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for the burglaries.
