Three Carson Valley residents with prior drug trafficking histories were arrested Friday in connection with the local distribution of methamphetamine.
The Douglas County Sheriff's Office Street Enforcement Team made the arrests at a residence in the 3500 block of Cherokee Drive in Jacks Valley, home of two of the suspects, Maude Marie Cox, 50, and her husband, Kevin Leo Cox, 47.
Also arrested was Melissa Sue Miller, 38, who lives on South Court in Gardnerville.
The Coxes were charged with trafficking in methamphetamine and conspiracy to violate the Uniform Controlled Substances Act. Bail was set at $25,000 for Maude Cox and $10,000 for her husband.
Miller's bail was set at $250,000. She was charged with possession of methamphetamine and, in a separate investigation, credit card fraud and burglary.
"The sheriff's office had been experiencing a lull in methamphetamine activity over the past several months; however, methamphetamine seems to be making a comeback locally," said Sheriff Ron Pierini.
The suspects appeared in East Fork Justice Court on Monday where Justice Jim EnEarl appointed attorneys and ordered them to return to court today.
He refused to reduce their bails, but told the suspects they can renew their requests today.
According to court reports, the three are accused of providing 5.5 grams of methamphetamine to a confidential source.
In addition, Miller and Douglas Goldy are accused to using a stolen credit card at about 20 locations in Douglas County, running up more $4,100 in charges.
They were charged with burglary and fraudulent use of a credit card.
Goldy's bail in $180,000.
