Cancer survivors are invited to dinner July 26 at the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life event at Lampe Park. Sign in at the survivor table to receive a T-shirts, gifts and a dinner ticket.
Opening ceremonies for Relay for Life begin at 5 p.m. July 26, with the Survivor Lap and Survivor Dinner following. Relay for Life events continue through the night until 9 a.m. July 27 with two talent shows, a luminaria ceremony, music, movies and a fire dance performance.
Jeff Ross will be speaking in the opening ceremonies of Relay For Life of Douglas County. He speaks about his experience with cancer to help the American Cancer Society raise funding for research, education, advocacy and service. He describes Relay for Life as, "One day, one night, one community, one fight."
The Controlled Burn group performs at 10 p.m. July 26 during the Relay for Life event in Lampe Park. The group has an impeccable safety record and are excited to light up the night.
