Tonight residents will get to personally interview the folks seeking office at a candidates night at the CVIC Hall in Minden. The doors open at 5 p.m. County commission candidates will debate the issues 6-9 p.m. The town hall is sponsored by the Business Council of Douglas County, the Carson Valley Chamber of Commerce & Visitors Authority and The Record-Courier. Indian Hills General Improvement District trustees will meet at 6 p.m. tonight to discuss their continuing search for a new general manager. The trustees meet in their offices at James Lee Park.

The trick of the weather patterns that's sending most of the smoke north of us is sending it all the way east to the Great Lakes. The weather pattern won't last and we could be back in the smoke without much warning. For now, enjoy living in a Valley again. The high today is expected to hit 92 degrees. It will warm back up toward the upper 90s during the weekend.
