at Buckaroos

n The Rustlers play 8 p.m. to midnight tonight. The Rustlers cover hard-core country music by Montgomery Gentry, Alan Jackson, Books & Dunn and Dierks Bently. The Carson City-based band is Ev Musselman on guitar and lead vocals, Larry Goldman on bass guitar and vocals, Brian Williams on lead guitar and vocals, Jim Park on pedal steel guitar and Russ Hohenberger on drums and vocals.

'E.T.' in the park

The Town of Gardnerville's Movies in the Park presents "E.T." at dusk tonight in Heritage Park, a block east of Highway 395 off Gilman.

Movies continue with the Carson Valley Pops Orchestra entertaining with show tunes before the classic movie "Citizen Kane" on Aug. 15 and Disney's "Meet the Robinsons" on Sept. 5. Information, www.gardnerville-nv.gov.

at High Sierra

Acoustic jam at Eddy Street Book Exchange

Local musicians are invited for an acoustic jam, 2:30 - 5 p.m. July 27 at the Eddy Street Book Exchange. Musicians of any acoustic instrument of any level of experience or those who don't play but want to sing along are welcome. Felix and Cold Sweat play funk, soul, reggae and blues, 9 p.m. Saturday, at Silver Strike Lounge with no cover charge. Cold Sweat is Felix Odion on guitar and lead vocals; David Macias, saxophones; Carl Kline, bass guitar and Bill Heath on drums.

Minden

Carson Valley Inn entertainment

The Hitmen appear through Sunday and various duos entertain on Monday nights. Cabaret Lounge entertainment is presented with no cover and no minimum in 45-minute shows at 7:30, 8:30, 9:30, 10:30 and 11:30 p.m.

The Hitmen play classic rock 'n' roll from the '50s through the '80s as well as contemporary tunes and had played together for more than 10 years as the backup band for Louie Fontaine and the Rockets. The group is Bruce McCormack on keyboards and vocals, Tom Dickson on guitar and vocals and Jhan Hansen on drums and vocals.

Shabang takes the Cabaret Lounge stage Tuesday and plays until July 27. Shabang entertains with classics from rhythm & blues, country and good ol' rock 'n' roll. Chuck May plays guitar and sings as he has for such acts as Little Richard, Bo Diddly, Chubby Checker, the Shirelles, Conway Twitty and Barbara Mandrell. Crystal Taylor is lead singer, Danielle Salomon is on bass and vocals and Jason Reed is drummer and vocalist.

Event includes tri-tip sandwiches, hot dogs, Indian tacos, crafts, car show and raffles. Tickets for the Austin House fundraiser are $20 for adults and $5 for children under 12 and are available at www.cvjamboree.org.
