Austin's House and the Boys & Girls Club of Carson Valley benefited from money raised by Minden Village businesses. On July 9, each organization was presented with $1,100 raised during Minden Village's third annual block party on June 19.

The block party featured family activities centered on a magic theme as a kick-off for Magiko, a two-week festival sponsored by the Carson Valley Visitors Authority.

The businesses offered live music, wine-tasting, food, a raffle, arcade games, a dunk tank, magic acts, balloon twister and stilt walker.

The Minden Village businesses would like to thank the following event sponsors for their generous support to make the event possible: Tahoe Basin Container Service, Douglas Disposal, Net Development Co., Charles Schwab, Alpine Medical, Carson Valley Dental, BodyWise Physical Therapy, Artisans International Gallery, First American Title, Lincare, Lira's, City National Bank, AG Edwards/Wachovia, King and Russo, WPTI and Century 21 Clark Property, Jim Nickerson.
