Surf music

in Minden Park

The Douglas County Parks & Recreation Departments' 12th annual Summer Family Concert Series in Minden Park continues with the Surf All-Stars, 6:30-8:30 p.m. today. Food and non-alcoholic beverages will be sold by the Minden-Douglas Elks Lodge No. 2670 with proceeds to be used for community projects.

The Surf All-Stars are sponsored by the Town of Minden.

Museum swap meet Saturday

The Douglas County Historical Society's next swap meet is 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday in the parking lot of the Carson Valley Museum & Cultural Center, 1477 Highway 395, Gardnerville.

Beach Bash

benefit Saturday

Boodler's Bar & Grubshack is hosting a potluck beach bash Saturday to benefit Gardnerville resident Kathy Bluethman who is recovering from a motorcycle accident. There will be a barbecue, games, raffles, a bikini contest and Mr. Muscle Beach contest beginning at 3 p.m. Saturday. Boodler's is at 1302 Langley Drive in the Gardnerville Ranchos. for Elks carnival

Vendor booths are needed for the Minden-Douglas Elks 2008 Summerfest Carnival, July 30 through Aug. 3 at Lampe Park. Booths are $60 to $100. Information, Dave Trueblood, 782-3416.
