MLB.com is reporting that Douglas High graduate Shawn Estes threw his first bullpen session back from a fractured thumb suffered May 30.

Estes was 1-1 with a 3.33 ERA in four starts for the Padres this season before falling down the stairs leading from the visiting clubhouse at AT&T Park in San Francisco and landing on his throwing hand.
