Sample what Gardnerville has to offer at Taste of the Towns

The Douglas County Historical Society's Taste of the Towns fundraiser is 5-9 p.m. Saturday. Sample food from Gardnerville restaurants the Overland Hotel Basque Restaurant & Bar, J.T. Basque Bar & Dining Room, New Rancho Grande, Two Guys from Italy and Woodett's Diner.

Food from Papa Murphys, Port of Subs, Joe's BB Que, Russell's Mercantile, Walley's Hot Springs Resort & Spa, Cookie Girl, Margarita Man and Sugar Daddy's Ice Cream will be available from booths in the parking lot of the Carson Valley Museum & Cultural Center, 1477 Highway 395, Gardnerville.

Area shops and boutiques open for browsing, buying and tasting hors d'oeuvres and beverages during Taste of the Towns are Classical Glass, Fresh Ideas, Felix Pottery & Artisans' Shoppe, Ruby Rose Cowgirl Clothes, Country Carousel, Battle Born Wines, Baby Willows, Cheshire Antiques and Angler's Edge.

Dancing music will be provided by All Hat No Cattle in the parking lot of the museum, the Hot 2 at the J.T. Bar and Georgette Twain at Woodett's.

Tickets for Taste of the Towns are wrist bands that will allow event goers to sample food and beverages at participating restaurants and shops.
