Kathrin Theumer and Andrew Johnson were married July 26, 2008, in Monterey, Calif.
The bride is the daughter of Markus and Sandra Theumer of Gardnerville. She graduated from Douglas High School in 2000, from CalPoly in 2003 and from the University of Nevada, Reno, in 2004. She is a doctoral student in Hispanic languages and literature at the University of California, Santa Barbara.
The groom is the son of K. Norman Johnson of Corvallis, Ore., and Betsy Johnson of Pebble Beach, Calif. He is a 1997 graduate of the University of Oregon, Eugene, and a 2005 graduate of the Monterey Institute of International Studies. He is employed as manager of government relations at Sharp Solar.
The couple was married by their friend, Jay Patrick. The bride was given away by her father and her men of honor were brothers Christian and Alexander Theumer. Flower girl and ring bearer were Hallie and J.D. Orear, niece and nephew of the bride.
The groom was attended by his sister, Amy Orear, as best woman. The wedding included a reception and dinner for 60.
After a wedding trip to California's Central Coast, the couple will make their home in Santa Monica.
