Rummage sale benefits youth
Gentle Shepherd Bible Fellowship hosts a rummage sale all day today and Saturday, and a car wash, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday in the parking lot at the corner of Tillman Lane and Kimmerling Road in the Gardnerville Ranchos. Sertoma Bingo on Saturday
Carson Valley Sertoma Community Bingo is Saturday at the Douglas County Senior Center, 2300 Meadow Lane, Gardnerville. Doors open at 11 a.m., early bird at 12:30 p.m., regular session at 1 p.m. Progressive blackout will be $650 with 57 numbers or less. Coffee and popcorn provided. Snack bar open. Museum Student Day is Saturday
Student-Senior Day features Laurie Hickey who portrays Clara Martin Hawkins, wife of a Genoa Pony Express rider at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Saturday at the Carson Valley Museum & Cultural Center, 1477 Highway 395, Gardnerville.
Seniors and students with a required accompanying adult admitted free to the museum and presentation every first Saturday of the month. Tours of the museum by costumed guides at 10 a.m., noon and 2 p.m. Information, 782-2555.
Wacky Waddlers on sale now
The 16th annual Wacky Waddlers' Wiver Wace to benefit the Carson Valley Community Food Closet is June 15 at Lampe Park.

Lecture on Pony Express June 12
Larry McPherson, past president of the Pony Express Association, speaks about the Pony Express, 7 p.m. June 12 at the Carson Valley Museum & Cultural Center 1477 Highway 395, Gardnerville.
The free lecture series is sponsored by the Douglas County Historical Society the second Thursday of the month. The museum and the Main Street Bookstore will be open before and following the one-hour lecture. Information, 782-2555.
Senior services plans 'Floor Play' excursion to Reno
Douglas County Senior Services is planning a trip to see the "Floor Play" dance show June 15 in the Eldorado Showroom in Reno. The matinee show is 3 p.m. with dinner to follow at 4:30 p.m.
Cost of the excursion is $45, which includes the show, dinner at the Chef's Buffet at the Eldorado and transportation. For reservations and information, contact the Douglas County Senior Center, 783-6455.
