Local authors gather for book event

Local authors Terri Farley, Ellen Hopkins, Miki Trujillo, Jim Darrough, Nancee Goldwater, Barbara Hegne, William Hill, Fox Hughes, Helen Martin, Ruth Posselt, Frank Rocha and Evelyne Tannehill will meet readers, sell their books and sign autographs, 5:30-8:30 p.m. Wednesday at the CVIC Hall.

Terri Farley is the author of "Seven Tears into the Sea," and "Phantom Stallion" series.

Ellen Hopkins' book "Crank" rose to top 10 lists in 2004. Hopkins has published 20 non-fiction books for children.

Former teacher of the year, Miki Trujillo is the author of "Chicken Soup for the Soul Presents Teens Talkin' Faith."

Jim Darrough's books include "The Pearl-Less Adventures of Ollie the Oyster" and "Little Blue."

Nancee Goldwater, who retired last year after 30 years as a Douglas County Animal Control Officer, wrote her first children's book, "No Bugs on Banjo."

Barbara Hegne has written 13 books on the accounts of the lives of early Nevada settlers.

William Hill published his 10th novel, "Vampire Hunters Stalked." Hill gives writing workshops and presentations at schools and libraries to inspire other writers.

Fox Hughes' book "Rainbow Rhino" teaches the story that what people look like is not all they really are.

Helen Martin's illustrations are featured in the children's book, "The Almond Heist," written by Kathy Mann.

Ruth Keil Posselt's book, "Abecedarium Anomalous: Alphabet Book Irregular," is a combination of photographs, poems and letter descriptions by her and her son, Jason.

Frank Rocha joined forces with his granddaughter, Melissa Ann, to write "Come Home Santa," a story of adventure, danger and working together.

Evelyne Tannehill's book, "Abandoned and Forgotten: An Orphan Girl's Tale of Survival During World War II," is a memoir of her survival as a 9-year-old during World War II.
