Galleries open during Carson Valley Days
Galleries on the parade route will be open during Carson Valley Days on Saturday. Enjoy light refreshments at Lone Tree Gallery, 1598 Esmeralda Ave.; the new location of Artistic Viewpoints in the old Copeland lumber building and pottery demonstrations at Felix Pottery, 1459 Highway 395, Gardnerville.
Fine art exhibit during Carson Valley Days
The Carson Valley Art Association's fine art exhibit is Friday through Sunday in Minden's CVIC Hall during Carson Valley Days. An artists' reception is 6-8 p.m. Friday. Show times are 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday.
A people's choice ribbon will be awarded at the close of the show.

Small treasures displayed
The Carson Valley Art Gallery Association presents the "Small Treasures" exhibit of small artworks opening Sunday and on display through July 31.
Receptions are 5 p.m. July 3 at Artistic Viewpoints Gallery and Studio at their new location, 1572 Highway 395 in Minden; Artisans International Gallery, 1653 Lucerne St., Suite B in Minden; East Fork Gallery, 1503 Highway 395 in Gardnerville; Felix Pottery & Artisan's Shoppe at 1459 Highway 395 in Gardnerville and Lone Tree Gallery and Frame in Minden at 1598 Esmeralda Ave.

Art show benefits Boys & Girls Club and Austin's House
The Second Annual Historic Minden Arts Show begins with an artists' reception 6-9 p.m. June 20 and continues through June 21 in the CVIC Hall at 1602 Esmeralda Ave. in Minden. Attendees may sip wine, enjoy food from Cafe Girasole, get to know the artists, and purchase art at the reception. A commemorative wine glass will also be made available to attendees of the reception.
Tickets for the reception are $20 and are available at all of the Carson Valley art galleries including Artisans International, Artistic Viewpoints Gallery & Studio, East Fork Gallery, Felix Pottery & Artisan's Shoppe and Lone Tree Gallery. Reception ticket sales benefit the Carson Valley Arts Council.
The arts show features painting, photography, sculpture, jewelry, wood, glass, pottery, and metal. Artists' work will be for sale and visitors will be able to watch artist demonstrations and participate in hands-on workshops from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, June 20. Most of the artists in the show are from the Carson Valley/Lake Tahoe area but there will also be artists from outside the area.
