Carson Valley Days continues today with the carnival at Lampe Park and live music tonight both at the park and behind the Gardnerville taverns near Heritage Park. Last call tonight is 2 a.m. Bottles and cans are banned outside in the Town of Gardnerville from 5 p.m. tonight to 5 a.m. in the morning.

The parade may start at 9 a.m., but get into town early on Saturday. The balloons launch from Carson Valley Middle School in Gardnerville at 7 a.m. and the Partnership's Fun, Run, Walk leaves Minden Elementary School at around 8 a.m. Shannon Litz will be shooting the parade and Scott Neuffer will be gathering the local color. We'll pop the winners of the parade online when we get them and include them with the Sunday section in the Nevada Appeal.

It will be a bit toasty out for the parade, according to the National Weather Service. The weather graph shows a temperature of 68 degrees at 9 a.m. when the parade starts warming up to 85 degrees at noon when it wraps up. The high today is expected to hit 86. The high on Saturday will climb past the 90-degree mark to hit 92 at about 3 p.m.
