We are complete in Christ

I recently had a conversation with a man about "spiritual things" and he spoke of all the different spiritual journeys he was on, which included some involvement with Christianity. As I pondered our conversation, a flood of scriptures came to mind. Scriptures that make it very clear that Jesus Christ is all we need to be fulfilled, complete and everything God wants us to be. The Bible is crystal clear about who Jesus is and what that means to us as Christians. The key to all God has for us is to be in Him.

Colossians 1:15-19, "He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him. And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist. And He is the head of the body, the church, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in all things He may have the preeminence. For it pleased the Father that in Him all the fullness should dwell."

Colossians 2:8-10, "Beware lest anyone cheat you through philosophy and empty deceit, according to the tradition of men, according to the basic principles of the world, and not according to Christ. For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily; and you are complete in Him, who is the head of all principality and power."

It only stands to reason, if Jesus Christ created all things including thrones, dominions, principalities and powers. If He is the head of all those things and we are complete in Him, why should we look anywhere else for spiritual fulfillment? Everything is subject to Him, everything is under His authority. All those who have received Christ as their savior, been born again and received the Spirit, are in Christ. If we are in Him we have access to everything we need both naturally and spiritually. There simply is no need to look anywhere else.

Colossians 1:17, "And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist."
