The Ignacio "Nacho" Bravo Collection opens Saturday at the Alpine County Museum, 101 School St,. Markleeville.

Bravo studied fine art and portrait photography with photographer Edward Weston. The photographic collection documents the daily life of children in the Washoe community at the Woodfords School taken by Bravo in 1938 and 1939.

The Historical Society of Alpine County welcomes Michael Bravo, son of Nacho Bravo, for visual and historical interpretation on Saturday and Sunday. Photographer and retired Humboldt College teacher Michael Bravo reprinted his father's negatives to provide the museum with the opportunity to display the work.

Museum hours are 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Refreshments will be served. Indian tacos will be available Saturday. Information, (530) 694-2317.
