Softball: Hot Shots win Sierra Shootout

The Carson Valley Hot Shots 14-Under softball team took their fourth tournament this year by winning the Reno Sierra Shootout this past weekend.


On Saturday, they played The Pack and it ended with a tie 1-1, then they played the Lassen Crush and won 5-4.


The team seeded 4th for Sunday and faced the Dayton Prowlers and won 13-1, they then played the Elko Inferno and came away with the win 6-4. The Hot Shots then played The Pack again and won 7-3 to advance them into the championship game against the Nevada Wildcats.


The Hot Shots were down 6-0 and came back to win the championship 7-6. The Hot Shots roster included Amanda Caras, Kelly Sonnemann, Kalee Duryee, Chelsea Fent, Katie Kluever, Shaelby Bell, Illiana Brown, Aaliyah Paxson, Jena Geyer, Marlena Martin, Devin Scherbak and Nicole Rios. The team is coached by Tom Keck, Lance Caras, Wes Duryee and Hank Paxson.
