Movies in the Park begins June 27
The Town of Gardnerville's Movies in the Park opens with "The Goonies" at dusk June 27 in Heritage Park.
Movies continue with "E.T." on July 18, the Carson Valley Pops Orchestra entertaining with show tunes before the classic movie "Citizen Kane" on Aug. 15 and Disney's "Meet the Robinsons" on Sept. 5.

Acoustic jam at Eddy Street Book Exchange
Local musicians are invited for an acoustic jam, 2:30 - 5 p.m. June 29 at the Eddy Street Book Exchange. Musicians of any acoustic instrument of any level of experience or those who don't play but want to sing along are welcome. Carson Valley Inn entertainment
Hindsight appears through Sunday and various duos entertain on Monday nights. Cabaret Lounge entertainment is presented with no cover and no minimum in 45-minute shows at 7:30, 8:30, 9:30, 10:30 and 11:30 p.m.
Northern Nevada band Hindsight plays a variety of rhythm and blues, classic rock 'n' roll and pop music. The group is lead by keyboardist and sax virtuoso Larry Waller, features Adina Pearl on vocals, Terry Caldwell on guitar, Leonardo Fields on bass and Derrick Autry on drums.
Rolland Dempsey takes the Cabaret Lounge stage Tuesday and plays until June 29. Rolland Dempsey and his band present a mix of rhythm & blues, soul and contemporary pop music. Dempsey provides vocals and congas, Joel Edwards is on sax, Gary Douglas is on bass and vocals, Kevin Tokarz sings and plays keyboards and Brian Jenkins is on drums.

Christian concerts begin tonight
Carson Valley House of Praise hosts their second annual Christian concert featuring Christian blues and rock guitarist Larry Carter at 6:30 p.m. tonight and Saturday at Minden Park. Carter played lead guitar for the gospel group The McGruders from 1989-1993, but left the group to fulfill the call of God on his life.
The show includes Tyler Sullivan from Citrus Heights and the Neimann Avenue band from Elk Grove. Everyone is welcome. Information, the Rev. George Whorley, 691-5649.
