Access to the dry camping at Topaz Lake has been blocked while county officials try to find a new entrance route.
The traditional route into the park was blocked when a portion of land leased by the county from the Walker River Irrigation District was sold to Park Livestock Co.
Community Services Director Scott Morgan said the new owners fenced off their property, blocking the road.
"The irrigation district has been great to work with," Morgan said. "We recognize that Topaz Lake is a reservoir for irrigation."
Morgan said the county is working with the new owners to have the fence removed and in the meantime is trying to find another route into the campground.
"We want to have it reopened by July 4," he said. "We're sorry the camping is closed, but we need to find a safe way to get people back there without trespassing on anyone else's property."
