No services have been announced for 32-year Disney Studios employee Ruth Hammond Quintana, 74, died June 16, 2008, in Gardnerville.

Born July 19, 1933, in Long Beach, Calif., to Robert Arthur and Evelyn Violet Hazell Hammond, she attended Leuzinger High School, where she swam competitively, and graduated in 1951.

She married Rod Morris and had two children, Cherie and Daryl.

The family moved to the San Fernando Valley where she worked for Disney Studios.

She moved to Carson Valley in 1996.

Mrs. Quintana was active in the Republican Party, Eastern Star and the Daughters of the American Revolution throughout her life.

She is survived by her husband, Sam; son Daryl Morris of Smith Valley; daughter Cheryl Morris of Gardnerville; sister Jeanne Elliott of Eugene, Ore.; seven grandchildren Rhianna, Heather, Danielle, Ashley, Amber, Daryl Jr. and Cody; three great-grandchildren; sister-in-law and best friend Jean Economakos; and her pets.

Cheryl Morris said her mother was a beloved and cherished grandmother and that the family will miss her love and strong spirit.

Granddaughter Rhianna carried her grandmother's swimming ability when she competed with the Douglas Dolfins and Douglas Tiger swim team in high school.

Donations may be made in her memory to the Douglas Animal Welfare Group care of the Douglas County Animal Shelter

A memorial service is 2-4 p.m. Saturday in the Stone Room at David Walley's Resort on Foothill Road in Genoa for 50-year Gardnerville resident Debbie C. Beccard, 57, who died June 14, 2008, at her home.

Born June 10, 1951, in Roseburg, Ore., to Raymond Chester and Elaine Ingersoll, Mrs. Beccard was an Avon representative for 30 years and proudly delivered the Nevada Appeal in Gardnerville for 12 years. She loved to help others and devoted her life to her family.

She is survived by her parents of Cottage Grove, Ore.; a son, Loren of Carson City; a daughter Christalee (Jason) Capman of Sparks; sister Diane (Larry) Berg of Carson City; a granddaughter, Haliegh O. Williams.

Arrangements are entrusted to Walton's Douglas County Mortuary.
