Nita 'Ruth' Tomalas
1949-2008
A memorial service for 19-year Gardnerville resident Nita "Ruth" Tomalas is 10 a.m. March 29 at Carson Valley United Methodist Church in Gardnerville. Mrs. Tomalas died Feb. 22, 2008, at her home.
Born Feb. 13, 1949, in New Mexico to Charles and Dorothy Virden, Mrs. Tomalas graduated from high school and beauty school. She was a hairdresser. She married Raymond Tomalas in Ventura, Calif., where the couple lived before moving to Gardnerville.
Mrs. Tomalas was a member of the Hobo Hot Springs Lions.
She was preceded in death by her father.
She is survived by her husband, Raymond; her mother; sisters Judy Linch and Jean Untereiner; brother John Virden; nieces and nephews Cathi Virden, Lori Cruz, Katie Grimm, Jennifer Powers, Sarah St. George and Charles Untereiner.
The service will be followed by a barbecue at the Tomalas home at noon on March 29.
